Leyland PS1/Harrington (Fanfare Transport Models - resin): An easy kit to build, but the side mouldings, etc., are rather 'vague' and, as such, not easy to pick out in silver. Caetano Optimo (PSG Models - resin): This 'white resin' PSG Caetano Optimo kit was the subject of quite a bit of discussion, in the early days of the MBF Forum. For me, it was an interesting exercise in the use of white resin. Others have carried out quite extensive modifications, in order to achieve a more accurate appearance. PSG and Fanfare both seem to have since opted to use proper 'cream' resin. Ailsa/Alexander (ABC Models die-cast, repainted): East Dorset's Ailsa is a repaint of the ABC model, produced for the MBF London Area. Not too much of a problem to get it apart, although some of the windows were glued. The simple Ringwood Brewery adverts were made using decal paper supplied by the Decal Paper Company and is a subject that has been discussed on the MBF Forum. Dennis Trident/East Lancs Lolyne 10.45m (Paragon Road Services)
Dennis Trident/East Lancs Lolyne 10.45m (Paragon Road Services) 'Holt Depot': The back yard on my original, and favourite, layout. Since the photo was taken, I have added further detail to the layout. This layout has since passed to Barry Tilling, of Bristol. ABC Models Leyland Lion: An expensive model and an absolute pig to get apart! It would probably have been easier to build another ABS Lion kit. AEC Q: The model is intended to represent an ex-demonstrator that ED snapped up in the mid-thirties. The platform doors would have been an 'added extra', fitted by the company. Certainly, some of these vehicles did receive doors - I've seen a shot on video of one operating, for Worth's of Enstone, with this feature. Using the red LT model, the 'stubs' for the handrails provide an excellent location for the doors, which are simply painted on clear plastic.
Scania/Wright: A pair of the excellent Exclusive First Editions Scania/Wrights and, as with most EFE models, they come apart and re-assemble without a problem. Don't forget the plastic lower front panel! 'Wimborne Market': A corner of the modern 'Wimborne Market' depot layout. Since the photo was taken I have added further detail to the layout. The Original Omnibus Company Bus Eireann Volvo B7TL/East Lancs, repainted into East Dorset livery. The Original Omnibus Company Wright Gemini demonstrator, which has been stripped down and repainted into East Dorset livery.

The Model Buses of Dick Lindsay (2/3)

Dick has been a member of the Model Bus Federation for almost as long as it has been in existence, and has been a prolific builder of model buses in that time. He has been a regular contributor to the Journal and the two-tone blue of his East Dorset Transport and the coaching subsidiary, Bluebird, has graced the pages of many.

Most of the models in this gallery have been the subjects of reviews, and I look forward to receiving many more, from Dick, in the future. I put a high value, and a high priority, on reviews, as many members look to them to decide whether or not to part with their hard-earned cash! - Ed.
