Well, as they say, it's a long story.  As you probably know, the previous web administrator had been trying to hand over the reins to someone new for some time, but there were no takers.  The MBF site at that time was hosted as part of his business package, and eventually it got to the point where it could no longer be kept running as part of that package.

That's when the problems really started.  Since then we have been unable to do anything until the domain name (model-bus-fed.org.uk) was transferred from the previous web administrator's business to an MBF official, and this is why there has been such a delay between the closing of the old site and the opening of the new.  Unfortunately, we have been unable complete the transfer, which is why we have had to take out a new domain name - model-bus-federation.org.uk.

It is important to stress that what has happened is a result of unforeseen problems with the process of registration of domain names, and is not particular fault of either the past or current web administrator, or any MBF official - we have simply been beaten by the system, but hopefully have learnt enough about "the way things work" to avoid it happening again.

We are taking the opportunity to update and re-think the site, which is why you are not getting simply a "carbon copy" of the old site, although there are also technical reasons why this is not possible.

We hope you will bear with us while the site is developed.  Remember all the people involved are volunteers (or have been volunteered!) and are doing this in their "spare" time.
